Leeden National Oxygen (Leeden Nox) Recognised Long-Serving Employee, Mr Chan Keng Swee, with 40 Years of Dedication
Forty Years with one Company. That’s like being here since the time when MRT trains had just started running, everyone queued up at the Post Office to pay bills, and pagers were the go-to for staying connected. Through all these changes, Chan Keng Swee, Head of IT at Leeden Nox, has been a steady presence, adapting and innovating along the way.

Congratulations to Mr Chan Keng Swee on receiving the 40 Years Long Service Award – a remarkable milestone that commemorates his unwavering dedication, exemplary leadership and invaluable contributions over the past four decades
A Journey Through IT Evolution
Q: You received your 40-year long service award at this year’s annual dinner in February. What inspired you to stay so long?
A: It’s the people—supportive colleagues, strong relationships, and a management team with a forward-thinking vision. That sense of belonging has made all the difference.
Q: What’s one of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in your course of work?
A: The Y2K bug! Back in the late ‘90s, there was real concern that computer systems would crash when the year changed from 1999 to 2000. We spent months preparing, but thankfully, everything transitioned smoothly.
Q: How has your role with the company revolved over the years?
A: I started with hands-on troubleshooting, but as technology advanced, I moved into leadership—coordinating IT operations and keeping our cybersecurity tight.
Q: Any advice for the younger colleagues today?
A: Stay curious and keep learning! Tech evolves fast, so staying updated is key. Also, don’t just focus on hard skills — soft skills like problem-solving and teamwork are just as important.
Q: What’s something your colleagues might not know about you?
A: I love food hunting with colleagues outside of work! It’s a great way to relax and bond over good food.
As we celebrate Keng Swee’s 40 years of dedication, one thing is clear—his passion, adaptability, and drive to keep learning have made a lasting impact on the company.
